Floors by room

The right floor for every room.

Every room asks something different of a floor. Here's what we recommend, and why.

Room 1 of 6

Kitchens

Spills, dropped dishes, and lots of foot traffic. LVP is the worry free choice. Engineered hardwood works beautifully if you want real wood and wipe up spills quickly.

Basements
Room 2 of 6

Basements

Concrete slabs and humidity rule out solid hardwood. LVP is waterproof and warm underfoot. Some engineered hardwood is rated for below grade use after a moisture check.

Bathrooms and Laundry

Water is part of the room, so the floor needs to be waterproof. LVP gives you a wood look that won't mind splashes.

Living and Dining Rooms

The rooms people see first. Hardwood brings warmth and value, and it can be refinished as the years go by.

Bedrooms
Room 5 of 6

Bedrooms

Low traffic and no water, so almost anything works. Hardwood feels great barefoot, and laminate keeps the budget in check.

Entries and Mudrooms
Room 6 of 6

Entries and Mudrooms

Wet boots, salt, and grit from Ohio winters. LVP handles water, and a tough laminate handles scratches in drier entries.

Doing more than one room?

Most projects are. We'll help you pick floors that work room by room and still flow together.

Questions about cost?

How much does new flooring cost in Columbus?

Price depends on four things: the floor itself (species, plank width and wear layer), the square footage and layout, what's underneath (old flooring removal or subfloor leveling), and extras like stairs and transitions. We measure in person and give you one clear written quote, explained line by line, with no pressure to decide on the spot.

Which floor is the most affordable?

Laminate and luxury vinyl plank usually cost less than hardwood, and engineered hardwood often comes in below solid hardwood in wide planks. The best value depends on the room: a waterproof floor in a basement can save you money down the road. We'll show you options at a few price points side by side.

Why don't you list exact prices online?

Because two homes with the same square footage can need very different work. Instead of a teaser price that changes later, we measure first and give you a written quote you can count on.

What's included in the price?

Your quote covers the flooring, installation and the details, like transitions and cleanup. Every floor also comes with the Mama Knows Best Care Package, including a care kit and a six-month professional cleaning visit, at no extra cost.
